No history of the electronic music scene would be complete without mentioning the name Reade Truth, one that evokes both futuristic anticipation and nostalgic reflection. Reade Truth is best identified as a veteran DJ of the NY scene whose deep dance floor visions have consistently provided an important source of edgy electronics always delivered with an inimitable style all his own. Equally at home programming most genres, Reade s sets range from hard or deep Techno and House to cutting edge Electro or provoking rhythmic Industrial, often they touch upon on all of the above; often he quotes the need to declassify adjectives and get back to the point. His DJ roots branch forward from the alternative-industrial scene that flourished in New York City at the end of the 80's. He has held residencies at famous clubs like Limelight, The Building and Pyramid and appeared at countless Warehouse Parties and Raves all over the U.S. throughout the nineties. Reade spent 7 years at the undisputed birth place of Techno in New York; the legendary Sonic Groove record store where he made his mark as producer with 3 releases on the Sonic Groove imprint before launching his own label Path Records. Reade Truth s recording career started on the cult label Direct Drive and includes releases on Instinct and Strictly Rhythm. After a few years off, he has relocated to Vienna and has new releases available on Pomelo and Chinatown.
