Hezekina Pollutina - VIENNA


G.rizo (born Ihu Anyanwu) is a Nigerian-American singer, producer, DJ and all-around creative currently based in Vienna, Austria.

G.rizo first appeared on a record in 2003 with the release of -Je Me Mentis-, an electro dub oddity on Codek Records. With a signature acid dub bassline and dark guttural vocals sung in broken French, the track received positive reviews leading to comparisons with the iconic black new wave diva -Grace Jones.
G.rizo s second release, -Eye Wanna C U-, -produced by Sasa Crnobrnja was released on DJ Hell s Gigolo Records in 2006--was the first track to consolidate G.rizo s love for electro and hiphop.

Over the years, G.rizo has been a featured as vocalist for several producers: In Flagranti, Patrick Pulsinger, Trio Exklusiv, Electronicat, Snax, Dubbelstandart, I-Wolf, Daniel Givens, Maximilian Skiba, Donovan and more. She has remixed tracks for Mosh Mosh (-Im Keller-) and Mothers Ruin (-Godzilla-).

She has performed live and DJd in events/clubs such as Hugo Boss (Fashion Week Beijinug), Seven/Bernard Wilhelm (New York), Galerie Meyer Kainer (Vienna), Dante Fried Chicken (New York), Radio Soul Wax Tour 07 (Switzerland, Scotland), Die Registratur (Munich), Rio (Berlin), Salon Des Artistes (Dusseldorf), Paris-Paris, Nouveau Casino, Triptyque/Les Chiennes Hi-Fi (Paris), Icke Micke, Flex, Donaukanaltreiben Fest (Vienna), Spring Fest (Graz), Dachkantine, Zukunft (Zurich), Scenic, Nublu (NYC). Performing on the same roster as DJ Hell, Soulwax, Abe Duque, Tiga, Munk, Midnight Mike, Daniel Wang, DJ Mehdi, Electronicat, Miss Le Bomb, Maximilian Skiba, Artur8, DJ Ulysses, Wolfram, and many others.

Currently G.rizo tends to her newly launched record label -Hezekina Pollutina-, and also instructs music production workshops called Electro Hammam. First release from the label is a G.rizo 7inch promo vinyl (Hezpoll001), to be followed by a single -BOYS-, with remixes by Egyptian Lover and Dinamics.
